WEB.COM IS A SCAM COMPANY

I cannot believe they have been allowed to take over Register.com and Network Solutions, two of the largest internet domain registration catalogs on the planet. They should not be trusted with this responsibility! They are spammers, scammers, bait and switch internet advertising pay per click annoyances! I have unsubscribed to their spam emails trying to get me to buy more of their useless products, and they refuse to honor my requests over and over. Now they have sent me threatening complaints generated by a person who wants to buy one of my domains, but wants to buy it at THEIR price, not the price I will sell. Really??? How dare you, WEB.COM, its none of your business. I will work to bring you down, you are a useless and I believe, fraudulent company.

THE OLD BAIT AND SWITCH

PROMISED A CUSTOM BUILT SITE TO MY SPECIFICATIONS FOR 114.95, FREE CHANGES FOR FIRST 30 DAYS , TURNS OUT IT IS NOT CUSTOM BUILT for 114.95, THEY USE TEMPLATES AND WHEN YOU COMPLAIN THEY TELL YOU YOU ONLY HAVE THE LEVEL ONE SITE WHICH HAS LIMITATION, NO ONE EVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT LEVELS OF SERVICE, THE WORD LIMITATIONS WAS NEVER EVER USED, TO GET WHAT YOU WANT AND WHAT WEB.COM PROMISED IN THE 45 MINUET INTERVIEW THAT I HAD TO GO THROUGH IN THE BEGINNING TO EXPLAIN THE PROCESS, TO GET WHAT THEY PROMISED INITIALLY I HAD TO BUY THE LEVEL TWO PACKAGE WHICH IS 114.95 PER MONTH PLUS A $799.00 SET UP FEE. I WAS PROMISED ONE THING they GAVE ME JUST A TASTE of what i had asked for, AND THEN SAID IT WAS GOING TO COST ME MORE TO GET WHAT I WANTED AND WHAT THEY PROMISED IN THE FIRST PLACE. BUYER BEWARE ...

Signed up for a $4.99 a month basic website hosting and purchased my company domain name. Seven months later I noticed a monthly charge of $29.95 was coming from them. When I called to cancel and get my money back they would only give back 4 months and then had the nerve to hijack my domain name. If I wanted it back I would have to give them back the money they initially ripped me off for! The other option was to bid on it because they're putting it up for auction. YES THEY WILL HEARING FROM MY LAWYER!

Ripoff, horrible customer service

My mother passed away in 2008, and I have tried for multiple years to get the website redirected to my name. Web.com said they were unable to change the point of contact from her. Really? Also, they were unable to handle any of my simple requests - send me an invoice, redirect to my new website, give me a log in to control the settings. About 15 calls and 20+ hours and 6 years later no progress. Last year I finally gave up and started a new website on Squarespace to honor my mom's work. So easy and simple. My mom would have loved it. Web.com is a disgrace to to the internet.

Web.com charging issue

web.com keeps charging my account, even though I cancelled it two months ago. I can never get through on the line to talk to someone, but I did manage to get an email stating, clearly, that my account was cancelled. Finally. Then they went and charged me again. I feel ripped off, and I explained that if this isn't resolved, I'll take other action. I'm not trying to disrespect the company, but I would like to be treated with respect and not as if I'm ***. It needs to be settled amicably. I have no desire to make a huge issue of this, of course. I just rely on my income, and it's quite inconvenient to have to address this over the course of three months. They could use a better way to address cancellation requests, as their phone lines are always busy and it's increasingly difficult to get through.

I cancelled with web.com in May of 2014 and I have several emails of cancellation number but they are still managing to take $50.00 monthly out of my account. I think I need a lawsuit.

Issue was resolved. They gave me a full refund for two months worth of services.

I am now satisified with the outcome. Unless they mess up again next month, this complaint is done.

Web.com literally stole my money

After receiving horrible customer service and shoddy design, I called to cancel services and request a prorated refund. This was three days after I was billed. They said they do not prorate refunds, so I requested a refund in full. They said the refund would be processed in 3-5 business days. The next day, they sent me an email contradicting their earlier statement, saying they would not honor the refund. Any company who wants repeat business or positive word of mouth should know better. They are in it entirely for themselves at the expense of their customers. They do as little as possible and try to push you through their sausage factory with little regard to the actually effect it has on your business. My recommendation to anyone considering Web.com is to stay very far away. Go to Squarespace where you can save a lot of money and be treated with respect.

I am unable to make changes or updates to my website

I have an paid account with Webs.com. for just about a year or more now, I have been attempting to update my website with very spotty results. The ability to make changes has only gotten worse over time. My attempts to contact their support has been largely met with indifference from them blaming my computer, my network, etc. Even though, if pressed they will tell you this is a known issue. I'm afraid that them telling me over and over that they are working on it, is not reassuring. They offer you no compensation even though they can be causing serious harm to your business and your professional image, and make it impossible to get to a higher level of authority in the company. I would think that as this is a publicly traded company, they would take better care of their customers.

Web.com scamed my website.

Web.com advertised that they are a web hosting company. Nothing could be further from the truth. They advertise that they offer a no risk 30 day money back guarantee but what they perform is nothing as far as hosting of a website. After building my website they NEVER were able to get it to the www. - world-wide web. When I asked their tech department about the problem they said that I had to submit a link of my domain name to google, yahoo & bing. That I needed to let web.com build my website. That this process could take 30 to 60 days for it to take effect and more money. Just a move to get you past the 30 day guarantee in my opion. At this point I felt that this is a scam and that they just wanted my money. Within the 30 day guarantee I asked for a refund since my website was never published and I have not recieved anything back. I contacted billing and they keep saying that they will refung my money and will send an email comfirmation but no email and no refund. Needless to say, I have built websites before with ease and success. It is not that difficult. Web.com is nothing but a scam with no results.

Nightmare customer service

In Aug 2012 I set up web site for husband trucking co. Did a test on the contact us link it worked. Thought no more about it. a few months back Husband asked about it. Went to log back in and and lost and forgot the info to log in. I have called, emailed, and faxed so many times I am blue in the face. I just get the run around. Or get all the emails back as undeliverable and that is with using the link for response from your emails to me. I get zero help and response. I have contested the charges with credit card. I have filed complaints with the BBB and State Attorneys office You are nothing but Big Scammers. I cant say for sure when the link became broken but I suspect almost from the get go. As I see things I am due 235.00 refund along with release of my domain name. No one should ever use you or endure the horrible treatment your dish out.

Web.com is a rip off and a ***!!!!!!!

I called these people to learn about their program. On the first phone call they said I would not be charged anything until I had approved the website however they needed to run my card for the first $99 monthly payment only to make sure it was a valid card. They said they would run it but my card would not be charged. Against my better judgement I gave them my card number. After one month they called to tell me my website was partially done I checked it and asked them where all the pages were. They said that the $99 was only for a 5 page website and that additional pages would be an additional monthly fee. This was NEVER explained to me. I told the right then and there that I was not going to be using them because their initial contact with me was very misleading. Because I am not great at reconciling my credit card bills I did not notice for five months that they had been charging me the unauthorized amount of $99 a month. I contacted them and was told I had never cancelled my account. I told them I never authorized it to be opened in the first place. After submitting the proper paperwork for a review and refund web.com denied me a refund. They could see that nothing beyond their originally pledged "test pages for review" was ever done and that nothing had progressed beyond that and the website was never activated they still kept $500 of my money. They are a crooked company.

Web.com published site with errors

web.com could not publish my new site without multiple errors like page forbidden, 404, 403. i asked them to please put back my old site. web.com did not. but, they pulled down the mess they created. my customers though i was out of business because i had no wesite. i had to call my old hosting provider to put back my old site. they 're marketing program is non existent and it's up the customers to add keywords to the seo. they do not build your website, it's up to you to build it. trying to make a change to your site takes a week and it's guaranteed to be wrong. wait another week.

Web.com is beligerant -- and wrong

I've been hosting a couple of websites with web.com for ages... through many acquisitions. One of my sites, theopinion.com, got "lost" in one of their transitions and they lost all of my content and database information. When I found out that it was all deleted 2 years later, and told them I wanted remediation, they at first offered a refund of one month's bill ($58). I responded saying "seriously? You give me one month off for actually DELETED my site and didn't notify me." So, their response was "under further investigation of your issue, we will not be providing any refund to you whatsoever." Really bad, Web.com. Really bad.
